Do "corny" and "cheesy" mean the same thing?

Unless your talking about food were something that is cheesy has cheese on it .

and something with corn on it would be corny.

Though they might be synonyms in the dictionary, i would say my personal distinction is
cheesy is when your boyfriend sings you a love song below your window, somewhat used and stereotypical but still sweet

corny is when your mom brings out the baby pictures in front of company, annoying and embarassing but sometimes funny
