room cleaning.

Question Posted Saturday July 21 2007, 3:47 pm

im very good about keeping my room clean, except when i have friends over. we make a big mess and i know im suppose to clean up whatever im done with, but i dont want to when friends are over.

i dont mind cleaning it myself, but i was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on making cleaning my room more fun. or go faster.

i usually listen to music or something. and i get done after a few songs. and i sometimes watch t.v. and on commercials clean as much as i can.

so, if you have any more ideas, let me know please!

and sorry for such a dumb question.

no question is dumd. it's actually dumb not to ask a question or advice cause that's what we're here for. You could probably time yourself and see how fast you can get it done. sorry for such a dumd answer but I usually listen to music or watch tv. also while cleaning my room. Please let me know how it works out.

Haha.
Well, cleaning rooms are not fun.
Basically, stay with one task. If you're cleaning up after cloths, clean up all the clothes. Don't start picking up clothes then suddenly move to your desk. If you move around from task to task, after an hour, you would've finished nothing and feel overwhelmed.

Break up your cleaning to certain times. 30min or 1hr should be fine. Clean for that long. Take a break. Clean for that long. Take a break. Etc.

Listening to music is always great. Try and stay away from distractions like the TV =P And you could even talk to someone on the phone while you clean. Perhaps a talkative person =)

Hmmm.
I hate cleaning, but yeah.

What I do, to keep myself cleaning, is reward myself or set goals. I'll be like "If I don't have this part of the room done by 5, I won't eat dinner til it's clean", etc. Or i'll be like "I need this clean by 5 so I can watch a tv show, or else I can't watch it".
That makes me clean faster.
That, and the fact that my dad'll go nuts if he sees my room isn't done when he gets home.

Also, when my little cousins came over, I'd pay them each a dollar to clean my room. :D
They'd totally do it, because a dollar is "soo" much money to them.

Other than that, it's not really a fun job unless you make it fun. While you're cleaning & your music's on, get up and just start dancing :P
It makes it more fun [for me, at least]. Or call someone up and talk to them while you clean.

Ehh I thought I'd be able to help more than this, sorry.
Speaking of cleaning, I need to clean my room soon too.

Good luck!
