f/16 I want to become a decent singer. I can sing some songs, I suppose but people always tell me I'm a bit flat. Help? I can't get vocal lessons, I'm not singing professional or anything. Just for fun, but I want to become better.
Sometimes I feel like I'm out of breath. No websites please. Just some tips?
Is there any songs like "There are Worse Things I Could Do" ?
Slow and a bit alto /soprano-mezzo ish? I can see that song good.. just like "freddy my love".. but I can't find any other songs slow like that to PRACTICE with.
Help? :D

When you suck in to breath, make your stomach fill up like a balloon. Then when you are about to hold out a note or whatnot, tighten your stomach, basically pushing the air up and out. This is called control. It takes a while to get used to, since it's opposite breathing for most people.
You can practice with any song that is in your range, usually the radio has stuff like that on.
Good songs to also practice with would be from the musical Wicked.
Usually good singers have vibrato, but that is extremely hard to learn and takes a lot of practice. Vibrato is the part at the end of a word that the singer holds out, and it pretty much sounds like the note is stopping and going real fast. That pretty much comes from the throat. I just learned how to do it and I have been singing for 4 years or so.
Singing is an amazing thing. Even if you aren't "good" it's still something to enjoy and have fun with.

and when you sing its like breathing with words haha sounds silly but its true.. also open your mouth as wide as you can on your higher notes. i learned when i went to lessons that also screaming or talking into the next room loudly can damage your voice because your vocal cords get hurt. hope i was help ♥christina [ crickee1613's advice column | Ask crickee1613 A Question ]
