stress

Question Posted Wednesday July 18 2007, 1:12 pm

14/f

Lately I've been stressing over everything in my life and its getting to the point where I'm starting to get depressed more often and moody. I'm stressing over trying to get into a top highschool where only a few get chosen......stressing over this boy who has a girlfriend but I just can't seem to get him out of my head no matter I do he's all I think about....stressing over issues in my home I feel like I can't go to anyone for help because I feel like they get bothered with my problems. I don't know what to do how do I handle my issues normally without depression or mood swings or stress?

Depression is hard. Really hard.
what helps me, as stupid as it sounds, is getting my ipod and a book and taking a bath. haha i know it sounds stupid but if you just sit in a bath, i usually do it with a bathing suit to feel more comfortable, and listen to calming music or read a book, it just relaxes me. or you could write your thoughts in a journal. that also helps. you could make a private xanga that nobody knows about and just type out all of your issues on there.
also ive noticed i feel more energized to deal with stress and happier if you eat more healthy food like a banana or something or just taking a walk and thinking.

Don't be stressed you're still young, you can add years to life.

1. Focus on the postitive things, not the negative, don't dwell on all the things you do have to do all at once, you seem to be focusing on it all and it causes stress on you. Take a look at things step-by-step.

2. Don't focus on that boy who has a girlfriend, hes a waste of time, and a loser and hes obviously too dumb to see you as a great person.
Focusing on one person gets boring, your 14 and still learning you have the rest of your life to fall in love. Theres other boys out there who like you, you just haven't paid attention to it. Put yourself first, only you can really make the depression go away.

3. Open up your feelings or talk about it with a close friend or a family member, but don't over dwell in your problems so much thats what can drive people away from you because they don't wanna be dwelled in your own sadness, people like to be around happy people. You can be happy.

4. Stay active, it'll be hard to do but once you get yourself motivated you'll be happy. Try to keep the stress out by creating routines day by day, try something new and diffrent, take a walk in the evening that can refresh you and if you have it take a cd player, or ipod with you to listen to, listen to upbeat music that can get you moving this can help you get motivated. Call your friends up to go out to movies or the mall.
Surround yourself with happy outgoing people , and happiness and laughter is the best medicine.
:)

I know how you feel, it's completely normal. I don't know if you see a therapist or you feel comfortable talking to your parents, but I do recommend a therapist. I don't think you have issues or anything, it's just really nice to talk to someone and talk through your problems. Also look at the foods and things your eating. It's possible that your diet has something to do with the change in your mood. More sugary foods make you tired, and irriated. I don't know how active you are but exercise is a garentee help. If you go for a walk each day outside your stress will decrease! But I do think you should see a therapist, it's good to have someone to talk about all these things with and they won't judge you. If you don't feel comfortable talking to a therapist, I know this is werid but I'm always avalible to just listen. So just email me if you need someone! :) Good luck! :)
