My parents are very protective of me going out... as on dates
well recently I met a guy and we are friends. (nothing more than that... we both agreed) ok??? so we are just friends.
Well he asked me if I wanted to go to a movie, and I said yes... but only as friends. So we agreed that we would go to the movies only as friends
Well how do I tell my parents that I wanna go to the movies with one of my guy friends??
If I tell them it's a guy, they will automatically think i'm going out with him and they will say no
I guess I'm just scared because I know that if I say "can I go to the movies with him, and we both agreed it was only as friends and nothing more than that"
well then they would probably let me go once they got to know him better
I could say that but i'm just so scared to tell my parents that!
HELP!!

If you dont stand strong for what you want to do then there never going to let you do anything. Tell them exactly the situation and tell them he is a nice boy and your good friends with him. Or my other advice is to invite him to your house first or something to have your parents get to know him. And finally you could always lie, which is the last option. A little white lie saying that there is more people going then just you two.
OhMyJill answered Tuesday July 17 2007, 3:58 pm: If your nervous about telling them, then maybe bring one of your 'girl' friends to go with you, and say its a group thing...but if their really that ''strict'', then..tell them he's gay!lol jk but, hey!, you never know! If they really dont believe you then you should just talk to them face to face and let them know your just friends and thats it. Hope i helped.

pacsunnnx3 answered Tuesday July 17 2007, 3:39 pm: my parents are the same way and i also had trouble asking them things like that at first. do they know this boy? if not, have your parents meet him. if they know him and like him, they will say yes. my parents wouldn't let me go, but then when i asked to go with a boy they knew and liked, they started to let me. if you don't want to do that then say exactly what you said in your question. practice before you say it a few times, that always helps me. good luck, hope i helped<3 [ pacsunnnx3's advice column | Ask pacsunnnx3 A Question ]

HELP!!
Lol okay.
Well my parents are the EXACT same way.
So maybe just tell them that you just want to go to the movies.
If they say with who just say his name and be like "We're only friends!!!" Like make it sound veryyy convincing.
Lol.
It will more than likely work.
Your lucky you even get to go to the movies alone with a friend.
I don't =/
So your lucky!
Hope I helped!
