I have hit this really bad plateau with my weight loss (5'2" and 155 lbs) and i've been this weight (and fluctuating about 5 pounds near it) for about 2 months now. And my diet and exercise habits have remained the same.
I was having 1200 cals a day, then i recently took it up to 1400, then 1600, but i keep screwing up.
I feel so deprived of food that I actually like (ice cream, pizza, fries, cookies, candy, etc.) that I completely binge on it whenever I have the opportunity.
I would like to know what you thin people do to stay in shape/thin (or is it just your fast-as-hell metabolisms?)
and is it okay to pretty much throw your diet out the window from friday night-sunday night? (i need some time to have my junk food)
please just answer.

personally, i think its a bit of a struggle for me to maintain my weight. so, i watch my calories(1000-1300 a day) and lately ive been jogging 3 miles a few times a week, but jogging just a mile would be fine and do some toning. i eat most of the "bad foods", but when i do, i just make sure i dont go over my calories. do not screw up on the weekend, that can ruin your whole week of hard work. if you have been working out and your weight isnt changing, you need to change your routine and do a different type of workout or do a more intene version of what you have been doing. vegetables, fruit, and lean protein contain certain vitamins and nutrients that control your weight, so keep that in mind. workout at least 30-60 minutes 3-7 days a week. good luck! 1. most thin people have different ways of why they are thin. some work extremely hard by exercizing, while others can gorge on whatever the hell they want and they wont get bigger. its mainly based on genetics.
2. If you feel deprived of food, then you should eat a little bit of it, not binge it. if your dying to have a cookie, split the cookie in half and have your friend have one half of the cookie, while you have the other half. your helping your craving by doing so. if your going to have pizza with some friends, eat a small meal ahead of time (like a salad that has a little dressing on it), and limit yourself to one slice of pizza.
3. It is not okay to throw your diet out the window for a weekend. If you need to eat some junk food, you could have a sandwich and put some baked chips on the side.
The only weigh to lose weight is to eat healthy and excersize 30 minutes 3-4 times a week.
i hope this helps you out! [ aworkinprogress's advice column | Ask aworkinprogress A Question ]

kc answered Sunday July 15 2007, 11:18 pm: I am blessed to be naturally thin. At first I hated it because i was gawky and awkward, now I have grown into it and I realized how lucky I was. But just because I am thin doesn't mean I cannot pack on weight. I work out every other day 3 times a week at my school's weightlifting program.
My mom has gone on a diet where she watched what she ate every day, no white bread, no junk. Then on Sundays she would eat what she wanted.
haleys411 answered Sunday July 15 2007, 11:17 pm: well i have a 'fast-as-hell' metabolisim, but to stay in shape alot of my friends run frequently, and when they get in the mood to binge eat they just try drinking water, or binging out on something thats healthy and wont make you gain pounds...also if your not already, you should go to the gym and maybe do some areobics classes, there fun and a good way to loose weight [ haleys411's advice column | Ask haleys411 A Question ]
