Get Neosporin [or the generic equivalent] plus pain relief. I burned by hand [it was only first-degree though] from grabbing the grate from a gas grill- I lack common sense. Anyways, I used that stuff and it really does help with the pain, and it'll keep you from getting an infection, heals faster, and makes scars less noticeable.
If it doesn't start healing soon, gets worse, or oozes or anything like that, see a doctor. You don't want to get an infection or worse. ]
hey,
aww. first off, i hope you feel better soon-that happened to me... baking cookies, ha.
but i first have to tell you, if you plan on treating this at home, do NOT use icy water. it will be a strong contrast against the burn, and it will hurt badly. use water at about room temperature. this will help more. if it dosen't feel as good as icy water, it will still heal faster. take my word.
besides fixing it at home, though, i'd reccomend you call your family doctor, and ask him to perscribe you some creams or something. this will help alot.
my reccomendation also includes you go to the store and get some Aquaphore. they have it at most convenience stores, and it reallllly helps things like wounds/dry skin/ect. i'm sure it would help your burn!!
i hope i've helped, and i hope your hand feels better soon!!

^^ Go to a doctor, see if they have something to help.
But in the mean time, get a bag of ice, and a dish cloth, wrap the dish cloth around the ice and put it on your hand. That should atleast help the pain die down!
Hoped I helped and I hope your hand feels better!
