How can you get pregnant without even having your period?

Question Posted Sunday July 15 2007, 9:42 pm

Hi i'm a 14 year old female and i have never had my period before and i was always told taht you can NEVER get pregnant. So how can atht happen.

And also when you have sex for the first time and you have NEVER had your period like me won't it hurt. Like my mom told me taht you can't hav sex because you don't have the natural lubracante so if you do have sex it will rip your insides and you can't have kids or it would hurt really really bad.

Yeah, I don't think you can ever have children if you've never had your period, but don't worry! Your probably just a late bloomer!

Rasberry leaf tea supports the female system, you can probaby find it at any healthy food store! Hope that helps!

Yours Truly,
Abigail

You can get pregnant even before you've gotten your period.
If you haven't gotten your period yet, it can hurt just as bad for someone who has already started their period if they have sex. It won't rip your insides out and you can't have kids. It has the same feelings as if you had gotten your period already.

There is some sort of "window of opportunity" for girls who haven't gotten their periods to get pregnant. Did you hear about the 9 year old girl in Mexico that was raped and was pregnant? Yeah, she didn't have her period.

And you can have sex if you haven't had your period yet. You still do make a natural lubricant, just not as much as you would if you were at age of menstruation.

For alot of girls sex will hurt the first time, if girls have "messed around" before they may have already stretched their vagina enough for a penis to go in easier. If you haven't, then you would be tighter and it would hurt more to go in. But it doesn't rip your insides!

I think the more appropriate words would be, that it is almost impossible to get pregnant if you have sex before you ever get your period. Then again you have to think of the possibility that even though you may never have had your period, at the moment that you could be having sex, your first egg could be coming down your tubes and could become pregnant. So it is posible for it to happen, but the chance of it is very slim....

Also, yes, Your first time will hurt, but not because you wont have enough lubricants, it'll hurt just because it always hurts at least a bit the first time =/ But it wont rip your insides and make you not have kids.. thats just to try to scare you off and make you not even think about having sex! What she's talking about right there is rape. And when it comes to rape, yes, there will be a lot of pain and does sort of damages your insides a bit, as you can imagine... But if its sex that you want, your body will create a lubricant so its not as painfull =)

Hope this helps =)

just to tag on a little warning. you really shouldnt rely on not getting pregnant just because youve never had your period. sperm can survive inside you for a while, and you might start your period within that time, especially since sex affects your hormones.

i hesitate to tell you this, but ive always believed that people deserve to know the truth about sex. your mom is exadurating. at least from what i know... but still 14 is a bit too young to start having sex

It's true that you can't get pregnant if you've never had your period. The adolescent stage of puberty is when the reproductive organs develop and you get your period. Without these organs, it's impossible to reproduce.
I don't know anything about the natural lubrication, but I would think your mom would be somewhat correct on that matter.
Overall, I don't think sex would be a good idea. You're fourteen! There's plenty of time for that later, when you're more sure of what you want to do with your life. Generally guys and girls aren't mentally developed enough to handle the strings that come with sex. Just wait it out and enjoy life!
Hope I helped!
