Traving to Europe

Question Posted Thursday July 12 2007, 5:00 pm

I'm 14. I want to travel to Europe when I'm 14 or 15. The trip costs around $1500. I'm flat broke and my parents would never give me that amount of money. How can I get some?

Have a garage sale! If you have old clothes, old stuffed animals that you don't like anymore, or even furniture that you don't use, sell it! You could also ask your parents for their unwanted stuff so you could sell it, but I highly doubt they will let you (because they were the ones who bought the item, and their child is making a profit on it?!)

Bake sales are a lot of fun, too. Invite a whole bunch of friends, ask them to buy their favorite 'baked good' baking mix (or if you guys are very good bakers you can make the stuff from scratch.) Then have a bake sale!

Here are some websites that I found that might also help out:

Not cutting down your dream or anything, but if you can't get a job, you can't make that kind of money.

My advice? Put off planning your trip for another year or two. That way you will have time to become old enough to get a job and set aside the money.

as the person said below, find a job. If you dont want to go out and get your working papers and what not you could also for extra money babysit, mow lawns and when it snows you can shovel snow things of that sort.

well the obvious answer is get a job. it will take a while to earn this money but you could start by babysitting the neighbor kids or apply to work somewhere. since your 14, you will have to get a work permit, but you can get those through your school. hope this helps!
