i want to try something new with my hair

Question Posted Friday July 6 2007, 2:43 pm

Well ive been getting sick of my dark brown hair and my mom wont let me dye my hair. So maybe if i got a semi-permanent(sp?) hair dye she would let me.
*What brand should i get?
*Will a light shade of brown work with my dark brown hair?
*How long does it last?
*If i dont like it how do i get it out?

Thanks in advance. :]]

BTW- PLEASE know what your talking about =D

- The best brand is the Clariol (sp) semi- permanent. Sorry, I'm forgetting the brand name, I just know it starts with a C and its semi- perm.

- The light brown will work, but barely. So try like a light brownish- red. It looks pretty.

- They say it lasts for 28 days and/or 28 showers.

- To get it out, try this coloring striping stuff. Go to Walgreens, or a place like it, and ask them about it. It will take the dye out of your hair, but dull the natural color. You could also, dye it a semi-perm. color that's extremely close to your natural color.

- But you have to remember, when I used semi-perm. It didn't come out after 28 days or washes. It just faded alittle, and caused me to have different color rootes. It didn't turn out the way I thought, so I had to keep dying it. Until the summer, made me go back to my natural color.

Hope I helped and good luck.

Any semi-permanent brand is good. But it wont work as good as a permanent dye would, especially on your hair. I have dark brown hair too, so I would know. I use permanent auburn dye, and the red washes out faster than you can say hairdye.

It'll last about a month- it'll start fading after about two weeks. If you dont like it, wash your hair a lot with clarifying shampoo, but still use conditioner!

Oh, and ask her [nicely] why she won't let you use permanent dye. Promise that you'll use a natural-looking color and she could even help you pick it out? Use only dark colored towels the first few days after you color, regardless of the kind of dye you use. Good luck!

there are alot of brands you can choose from and alot of them are good but try to get ones with no ammonia. idk about you but the smell makes me sick and it burns your scalp when you leave it on.
a lighter shade of brown would work with your dark brown hair but it might make it red. that happened to my dark brown hair when i tried to dye it lighter. so try to find a color that has no red in it instead go with golden browns. unless of course you want red. its up to you they both look good. semi permanant will last i think up to 2 months or maybe more. or thqts how long it lasted for me. once you dry your hair after dying it and you dont like the color you can shampoo it out it takes quite a few times to get any of it out. dishsoap is really strong and will strip it out but unfortunately will strip out any of the good stuff in your hair too.
ok i hope this helps good luck
