At first the stomach is not big. The baby develops and the stomach gradually gets bigger. It doesn't magically get big after one night.

It can be difficult to determine if you are pregnant at the beginning stages of a woman's pregnancy because she may not start her cycle for a few more weeks. If she isn't supposed to have her period for a little, then it's hard to uses the lack of a period as a determining factor. Also, babies are extremely tiny and a woman might not even start to show until 4 or 5 months into her pregnancy.
