i need a good popcorn alternative for movie night

Question Posted Monday July 2 2007, 11:21 pm

my boyfriend and I are going to be cuddling up to a few movies tomorrow night and I just realized, I don't have popcorn. I don't have the money at this point to go buy a whole box for one night, does anyone know any good alternatives to eat during the movies?

i think i have some of the popcorn kernals, like, uncooked popcorn...how do you cook that right? it never works for me.

I know how to cook uncooked popcorn! OKAY..
first you put cooking oil in the bottom of a pot and make sure it covers the whole bottom.
Then, you put in the popcorn seeds, also making sure it covers the whole bottom of the pot.
Next, turn your stove on med/high..and wait for it to start popping.
when you hear it start to pop, shake the pan just a little bit and turn off the stove. keep shaking intill popping is done.
and pour into bowl.
Thennn you can put butter in the micowave and put it on top.. then add salt.
lol, i hope this makes sense..

When I don't have popcorn, I usually use chips, and if I don't have that, then cereal it is.

I'm not even sure how to make popcorn that way, but I know there's some sort of machine that makes it. However, it's really old & probably expensive.

Anything crunchy. Or candy. Chips, pretzels, heck even dry cereal. Any good snack food that isn't excessively messy. Or sticky, in case it's kicked off the couch during scary parts. Try to avoid garlic or onions unless you don't mind kissing with skunk breath :P

As for making that popcorn:

Never actually tried either of those methods, but they make sense. Don't touch hot oil [duh] and remember that it doesn't boil in the pan when it's ready, like water does, it just gets reallly hot.

Have fun!

Well i have this large hard plastic container thing and it has holes in the lid. You put the popcorn in that and cook it for about 4 mins then take it out, take out the popcorn and re cook the kernals for about a minute or two and do that till you think no more are going to pop. You can really eat anything. If you have chips or dip or lollies anythings good. You could make something like buiscuits to. If you really have no idea what to get why don't you ask your boyfriend to bring some popcorn over? When i have a dvd night with my friends we usually have chips and lollies and soft drink or peanuts whatever is in the cupboard.
