d really have to do it in sets. Like, for example, 20 times, up and down, each day.

Go here ([Link](Mouse over link to see full location)) to calculate how many calories you burn per minute of running up the stairs (it depends on your weight and therefore I cannot calculate it for you). Assuming it's the only exercise you do and you're currently maintaining your weight, if you'd like to burn a pound per week, you'll have to expend 500 calories every day just climbing stairs. Assuming you weigh 130lbs and go at a moderate pace, that's about 83 minutes, or 1 hour and 23 minutes of stair running per day.
Basically, it's not going to happen. Change your diet and find a more sustainable form of exercise if you want to lose the weight--your body will thank you for it, and you're far less likely to be disappointed. [ Daimeera's advice column | Ask Daimeera A Question ]
