I really want to lose ~20 lbs by the end of summer, or atleast 10 just to be healthier... since I`m a whole lot of flab (stomach+arms) which isn`t a totally good thing. Plus, I want to feel better about myself, because it`s really discouraging when a 90 lb girl goes "Omfg, I`m so fat". I`m also doing it so that I don`t bum around for the whole summer, since there isn`t much to do.
So like, if I supposedly (not sure if I can) go to the gym, atleast 3-4 times a week for cardio and such (burning atleast 400 cals), play softball/practice atleast once a week for about an hour, cut out junk food/unhealthy foods and drink a lot of water, would I be able to reach my goal? (Even though it`s assumed that if I lose ~2 lbs per week, I`d lose ~16 lbs by the end of summer)
(Excluding the gaining muscles then losing weight thing)
:)

Replace junkfood that you eat with an apple, or some other fruit or veggie.
Eat Salads throughout your day to keep you feeling full.
Drink POM tea (it helps burn fat).
Eat smaller portion sizes (use smaller plates).
Drink better beverages (such as Water, OJ, 100% fruit juices)
Eat 3 meals per day. Special K for breakfast is the way to go.
Working out you can do pretty much anything. jumping jacks, running, walking, biking, and swimming. swimming works all the muscles. work out 3 - 4 times per week.

Try to go to the gym at least 3 times a week, and maybe push for the 4th time. Cardio is probably going to be the key for you to lose weight since you said you have a lot of flab. With cardio it'll burn the fat right out. Cut out the junk/unhealthy foods like you said and supplement them with fruits and veggies. Boring I know but it'll help. Eating yogurt, and things like peanut butter with apples as snacks will help you burn the fat. Make sure you eat at least 5 times a day, 3 meals and 2 snacks. It'll keep up your metabolism.
Keep a positive outlook on the weight loss. You can lose the 20 in 8 weeks, even if it doesn't seem that way. The first week you might loss more than 2 pounds since you'll be cutting out your normal foods and eating healthier. Make sure you take a multivitamin too, for extra minerals, and vitamins that are essential. Also try to eat a good amount of everything like protein, whole grains, fruits, veggies and diary.

hotie91292 answered Thursday June 28 2007, 11:49 am: its possible. you just have to work hard and stay committed. when you want to give up, just think of how long til the end of summer, and think of your goal and how you could be. and it is ok if you lose a little more than 2 lbs. per week, just dont starve or anything =] [ hotie91292's advice column | Ask hotie91292 A Question ]
