Scrunched hair

Question Posted Monday June 25 2007, 5:05 pm

My hair is naturally pretty straight. But more than anything, I'd love to have curly, wavy hair. I want to have the kinda crunchy feeling to it. What are some products that I can use to scrunch my hair that have worked really well for you?

ok, well i have REALLY straight hair but when i wash it, it gets a LITTLE wave to it, so right before i go to bed i have a shower, than i put my hair in a messy bun, the messier the better, but not to where it falls out, then sleep with it in the bun, then when i wake up i take out the bun, its usually REALLY wavy, then i put some mousse in it, and scrunch my hair, the mousse that i personally recommend is called herbal essence totally twisted, its a curl boosting mousse, so this should work

i hope i helped

I don't have this problem, but my best friend does. She has really straight hair & she always complains to me that I can scrunch my hair & she can't.
You can either use Gel or Mousse, but I recommend mousse. Gel is so messy. For hair that's naturally straight, you'd probably want to use a pretty large amount and NOT scrunch the top of your head. Try starting towards the middle & working your way downward.
Just take your hair in your hands and like scrunch it upwards then twirl it around.
Play with it.
It might not look like it's working when it's wet, but when it dries off it'll volumize & scrunch nicely.
Hope I helped.

Like the person below me said, you need to use mousse to have that crunchy feel with the waves.

Honestly try getting Fredric Fekkai spray. He has one to make your damp hair wavy. And also has another one for anti frizz. Both are in an orange bottle, and both Victoria's Secret and Sephora sell them. Both products by him work to give you that natural wavy beachy hair. I use both of them and love them. The anti freeze is more creamy and smells like coconut which is an added bonus, and the spray to make your hair wavy is more of a clear solution.

Good luck and hope this helps.

If you want the 'crunchy' feeling you use hair mousse and put some in your hand and open your hand and start from the ends of your hair and scrunch them so like scrunch up your hand from the bottom of your hair and it should give you a more curly hairstyle with the 'crunchy' look.

x hope this helps x

hey

john frieda's frizzease dream curls curl perfector.

i have naturally straight hair as well, not stick straight. i used this stuff and it stayed curly even when i ran my fingers through my hair [that's why curling irons never worked for me! i could never touch my hair]. try it. it's the best out there.

girls hate it when their hair is 'crunchy' but i LOVE that feeling too. however, this stuff only makes it a little crunchyy. but it's cool.
