Anyway, you are supposed to keep them in as close to 24/7 as possible. As you can see, you obviously forget sometimes. Take them out when you brush your teeth. Some orthodontists say to take them out when you eat, some say not to. But the longer you leave them in the quicker your braces will come off. My brother and I didn't, and we both had to get springs, which are extremely painful as well as uncomfortable. [ xokristabelle's advice column | Ask xokristabelle A Question ]
uisforukelele answered Sunday June 24 2007, 2:04 pm: no, like when you eat or brush your teeth you can take them off. but here's a little secret... it doesn't really matter that much if you take them off, because when i had rubber bands i had to have them for like 6 months and i didn't wear them once. and i got my braces off at the same time as i would have if i had had 6 months of rubber bands. so i'm not telling you to not use your rubber bands, but don't stress about it if you forget to put them back in or something. it's actually really good that you sleep in them though. SuperDuperJess answered Sunday June 24 2007, 4:18 am: I Have braces and i dont have the rubber bands given to me, but that was because i only have them on the bottem. But my friend has them on top and bottem, but she keeps them in 24/7, but this is so it can make your teeth straighter and quicker.
