OK, this is very weird & sorry, I had no idea what to put it under. Anyway, for some reason, when I eat a meal, I never ever eat the last bite. I mean I'm sure I could if I really tried, but, it usually just happens that there is that little last piece that I feel I can't eat! Everyones is like, "oh, you can't eat that last little bit?" But, I just don't do it. Any ideas on why this is so normal for me?

You mention that you could if you "really tried", which suggests that you're already full enough by that time. So it's a good thing that you don't force yourself to eat that last piece, even if it is little, because it sounds like you know your limits when it comes to eating. That old-fashioned idea that some people have of a person having to clean their plate can actually set people up for over-eating. So, I guess what I'm saying is that you probably know when to say enough is enough when eating, which is good.
I also leave a little bit on my plate at the end of a meal and sometimes I do it because I feel self-conscious about eating everything on the plate, even though I know I shouldn't really feel that way; that could be another reason why you do it.
Jeanne answered Tuesday June 19 2007, 1:36 am: Well, I have no idea why you do that, but personally I think it's great! It's better than the problem I have... if there is food in front of me, I will keep eating it, even if I'm not hungry, until it's all gone! Then I'll feel stuffed and miserable (not to mention that it's not too good for my figure!). So don't let people pressure you into eating something if you don't want it. They may think it's a funny quirk and tease you about it, but so what? It's better than stuffing yourself for no reason! [ Jeanne's advice column | Ask Jeanne A Question ]
Helpful answered Tuesday June 19 2007, 1:25 am: Dude, I do that too! It's nice knowing that someone else out there has the same quirks as I do. In fact, I googled "last bite" and variations on it, and I discovered there are a lot of people who do that. Most of them are doing it for a reason, whether it is to rebel against the clean plate (I'll stop when I'm full, and not a moment after!), or to avoid doing the dishes (a.k.a. the half-inch slice of cake left). I can't help you... don't rate me on this one, I am just as curious as you are to hear the answer. [ Helpful's advice column | Ask Helpful A Question ]
