caffeine 14/f
i'm trying to break my caffeine addiction, i've been drinking a cup of coffee every morning for 2 years now, and since caffeine exhausts you i'm trying to stop. (i also drink things like green tea throughout the day but i don't drink it past 1 pm)
But I don't know whether I should just cut back to 1 cup of tea (30-55 mg of caffeine) daily, or just get off of it completely?

ive been drinking coffee since i was 3 and im 16, so i see where your coming from. I wouldnt advise stopping right away, because when you do that you can get really bad headaches and they're not any fun. i would try to get off the coffee, its not only got alot of caffeine but it can stain your teeth too. I would try replacing the green tea with decaff if they have it and if they dont one cup a day would be good to start and then i woul go from there. good luck! ]
hey
I suggest that you cut it down to one in the morning, then cut it to one every other morning, then one every three mornings, then one every four morning, every fix, six, once a week, etc.. until you feel like you don't need it any more, but don't be afraid to have it if you're having a rough day. Everyone has them and limiting yourself to certain things that you can eat or drink often makes you more stressed than just drinking or eating anything. If you fail the cycle of cutting down you can always start again.
hope that was useful.

Hi. I'm ygsgirl, and I'm a caffeine addict. Have been for 15 years.
Yah. Big coffee drinker, here.
I had a baby nearly 4 months ago. I had to quit the caffeine habit for the health of my then unborn child.
The ONLY way I could quit was to QUIT. You do go through withdraws, such as moodiness and possibly a headache, but nothing major. And it all goes away in a few days.
Yes, I'm guilty of going back to my age old coffee habit, but I did it because I wanted to- I LOVE the taste of coffee. I only quit for the sake of my child.
However, I could have very easily continued with my caffeine-free lifestyle if I chose to, but I didn't want to. Catch my drift?
Basically, since you want to quit, it's easy to stay off the habit once you kick it, and kicking the caffeine habit really isn't as hard as one might think.
Good luck, now!

Cutting it out of your life completely will seriously make you hate life. I never wanted to cut it out, but I stopped drinking soda so I kinda forgot about it. I was getting terrible headaches that just don't go away until you drink some coffee or tea. So just cut back for now, and slowly ween yourself away. ]
When trying to break an addiction, when you try to cut it out totally right away, it usually goes bad & a week or so later you're right back to your addiction. I would suggest by starting to drink one cup of tea in the morning. Try that for a few weeks. That way it isn't like you're having your regular cup of coffee. If you have a huge craving for it & don't want tea one day, which is normal, drink a half of cup of coffee. Try not doing that too often though. Maybe just once in awhile, only if you really want it. After a bit, try only drinking half a cup of tea then. A lot of caffine isn't good for you, especially since you're only 14 years old. Usually adults have addictions with coffee, so you're starting young. You want to get control of it now so later it won't be a problem.
-hope that helped!♥ ]
