if i text my friend that lives in arizona
and i live in illinois
will i get charged for long distance?

nope texting is the same charge no matter what. And if you have unlimited then its still free.

It depends on your phone plan as to how much you will be charged for the text messaging but you don't get charged long distance for text messaging. If you text a lot you might want to look into adding unlimited text messaging on your cell plan. Instead of about 10 cents for every text sent and received, I pay $10 a month for unlimited sending and receiving text messages.

Well it could depend on your plant. My plan with Cingular/ AT & T, charges .10 cents for each text message, and my son textes his girlfriend in Illinois, and it still only costs .10 cents.
