AIRPLANES

Question Posted Thursday June 7 2007, 2:18 pm

I'm taking a trip to Washington DC in about 3 weeks, and i havent been on a plane in almost ten years. I am a teen and need things to do on the plane, so i am looking for suggestions...but i'm plannning on just bringing my ipod and stuff.

but i have some more questions:

*what are some things that i will not be allowed to take on the plane?

* Is it true that you cannot take curling irons/straighteners on the plane?

*can you take on food or do you have to buy it on the plane?

*do they actually open all your bags and check theM??

*Anything else i should expect?

1) You can't have any liquids more than 3 oz./bottle.

No lighters or sharp items...I'm not sure about knitting needles.

2) You can definately bring curling irons and straighteners I have done it a ton. I think it needs to be on the stored baggage NOT carry on.

3)There are these machines that can see inside your bag. If they see anything suspicious then they might go through it.

4)Don't bring a water bottle or anything they will be taken away.

1. now since terrorists and jazz are around.
theres a limit on the quantity of liquid you can bring on the plane. you cant take big suitcases. and metal objects [knife's, nail cutters, scissors +etc]

2. you can take those beauty products but you have to put them in your suitcase and get a lock so they wont go through your suitcase and take your stuff.

3. you can bring food in a plastic bag as a carry-on item. and when your on a plane you get food [breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks] but i hate airplane food i find it nasty, so bring some snacks just incase.

4. they dont open all bags, it really depends. all bags go through a metal detector if they find something in your bag theyll open it. and it really sucks because they just throw everything back in, they dont fold it or anything.

5. expect maybe a bumpy ride, bring something to entertain yourself, bring your own snacks, they wont allow you to use electronics until they announce you can, and your cellphone cant be on no matter what.

That website should tell you about the first two questions but as of your other questions,
*The food depends on how long you're plane ride is, if it's below 4 hours then they just give you free drinks and pretzels. If its a long ride then they will give you a meal, not sure if it is free or not, depends on your airline. Either way, airplane food sucks so i recommend buying food anyways, don't buy drinks to bring on the plane becuase your not aloud to bring liquids, they supply you with it anyways.
*Some airlines check your bags, usually international ones, they probably won't check your bags, but you never know. They dont search through every piece of underwear you have so don't worry, they usually just check the sides and all pockets. Your carry-ons are put through a x-ray machine but they don't open them.
*Other things to expect are, when your carry-on's are put through the x-ray machine you have to go through a metal detector and take of your shoes if you have sneakers or closed shoes, if your wearing flip-flops or sandals, you don't have to take them off. Be ready for a long wait before you get on your plane, when your on the plane and waiting for it to go in the air, and when your waiting to get off. Bring an ipod and a book, and some sleeping pills if you wanna go to sleep. Bring gum to chew when your in the air becuase your ears have to pop, and sometimes your ears will hurt. Chewing gum helps that. Wow, this was a long answer. Hope i helped prepare you! =)

i think that you can't take curlin rions or straighteners but would you really be able to use on on a plane?

Usually they give you a beverage and food depends on tha airlines

They don't open all of em they just run them through a machien

You have to take off your shoes at the security gate
