I cut. I need help. I want to go to guidance at school.
What happens once I go and tell them?
Other than call my mom.

But they will not be really mean and say okay we are putting you away. You're not in trouble you need help. You may not want them to help you but they will help you get better. This is not right to do at all. This to me is a mental disorder. People will and can help you with this. It's not going to be easy. But you'll make it through it you really try. ok.
futurePsychologist answered Sunday June 3 2007, 9:56 pm: I went through the same thing. It's good that you want help. The counselor is going to ask to see the cuts. Depending on size and depth they will either refer you to a therapist, but mostly will send you to a mental health facility. If they do this...don't be worried because these places are very nice and helpful. I went to one and now I'm better. If you want to stop you will...I believe in you!!
viciousxpunk answered Sunday June 3 2007, 10:42 am: different guidance councelors will do different things. most likely after you tell them they will ask you to talk about why you cut and what is going on in your life that makes you feel the need to. they will call your parents because they need to know. they cant force you to go to a psychologist, but your parents will probably make you. if youre worried about going to one though, dont be worried. a psychologist can help you get your feelings out, and is someone who you can talk to. they wont tell your parents anything you say unless they feel its endangering you or others. many people go to psychologists just to have someone to talk to. charley answered Wednesday May 30 2007, 2:44 pm: my friend went through a similar thing and she didnt want her parents to find out so the school didnt tell them. they gave her other methods to help her e.g squeezing ice cubes. the coldness gives a similar kind of pain as when u cut yourself, pulling an elastic band and letting it ping back. they also gave her a bunch of leaflets and talked to her about relieving her stress in a different way such as a stress ball.

orphans answered Tuesday May 29 2007, 10:36 pm: Well first off why would you start such a stupid thing? Honestly. You should've known you're going to end up having to do this.
They'll probably guilt trip you. They'll try to make you seem worse then you really are and your excuse will be that you're depressed, which is everybodies excuse even though 90% of them aren't. Anyways, yeah. Good luck. [ orphans's advice column | Ask orphans A Question ]
