You need to ask your boyfriend what he meant because we're not him & don't know what he was thinking when he said it.

He could've meant you never try and that you just seem to just say fuck it. But then again, I'm not him so that's something you'd need to confront him about.

When someone says that they usually mean that you give up on the things that you try to do because of your disappointment with yourself. Maybe he thinks you don't give yourself a chance to accomplish the things you want to do. Maybe or maybe not? The only way to truly find out is to ask him because you could get the wrong meaning to his statement and cause a big misunderstanding.

Well, in all honesty, none of us even know you. We don't know him, and have no clue what he is thinking. You don't give any information on why he would think that, so realistically we can't answer your question honestly.
Though you don't want to ask him, he is the only one who can give you the true answer.
