Ok, so im in 8th grade and cheerleading tryouts for my highschool freshman squad are on June 5th. I was just wondering, what are the requirments and stuff? I'm really nervous because I don't know anyone trying out, and I'm not sure if ill make it cuz i cant do a flip. I can do everything else fine though. Oh, and also, can someone tell me what it's like, and like what shoes I should wear and sutff. thanks =]

Well, it's actually pretty easy. In the end it really depends on your school, however, for most teams you don't need to be able to do a backhandspring or back tuck... but it would most likely garantee you a spot on the team, so you should try to get either of the two. But, I think that if you're good enough with motions and stunting and such, they might put your lack of tumbleing behind them and decide to put you on the squad. I think to get ready, you should stretch, a LOT. Also, you should practice some of the motions, and the cheers, too. Stand in front of the mirror, whisper the cheers, and do motion drills. You also should maybe even make a small dance, you know, just incase they want to see you dance. You should really look into more of what JUST your highschool team wants, becuase every team has different expectations.
As for what you should wear, you should just wear running sneakers, shorts with track pants over them, and a t-shirt or long sleeve shirt. Wear your hair back in a ponytail also.
