Any form of getting some type of action with another person. A hook up is when you mess around with a person, but arnt together.

Going out is when you have a boyfriend or a girlfriend and are serious about eachother.

theyre the same thing, except for hook-ups doesnt have strings attach. like an open relationship
going out you can only see one person, but if you hook up with another person, it can't be considered cheating

"Going out" can mean either to date someone or just to hang out.

"Hook up" can either mean the same as "going out", or it can be used to refer to making out or sex.

DepthofHeart answered Wednesday May 16 2007, 10:11 pm:
When you just hook-up with someone it's just casual thing(Mainly sex), your not dating the person exclusively. You have no attachment to them, no strings attached. When you're dating someone you're in an exclusive relationship, you can't date or hook-up with any other guys or girls.
