holahayley56 answered Sunday May 13 2007, 10:19 pm: uh. i highly doubt that. and i hope that you were just curious about that, then actually plan on smoking to delay your period. one cigarette=1 minute of your life gone. (: they say even more now, but atleast a minute. [ holahayley56's advice column | Ask holahayley56 A Question ]
yarmica answered Sunday May 13 2007, 9:07 pm: well not one cigarette..... i was a smoker and i've been for years... probably since i was about 16 or so ( i quit a week a go! i am still bitter at times but yay i getting there! :D )
well back to ur q.... though it ddnt necessarily delay my period it messed up my face (my skin looked terrible and i swear i feel the difference in just a week) it also made me less athletic and fit so i stopped exercising which again messed my period cycle.... but after a while my body readjusted to it... so at the beginning yes... it is possible for it to alter your body's system but i don't believe only one would do the trick....
TheWallflower answered Sunday May 13 2007, 9:04 pm: I don't think it can. Your menstrual cycle is determined by hormones released by your hypothalmus and pituary gland, I don't think cigarettes affect those glands or breaks down hormones in your body. I know marijuana can mess up your menstrual cycle because it screws around with the hormones in your body. [ TheWallflower's advice column | Ask TheWallflower A Question ]
