Sorry, I'm not sure if this is in the right category. I don't have braces yet, but im getting them soon, three days after i get my braces i'm planning to go to a friends house for a sleepover, will i be able to eat solid foods 3 days after getting braces?? If not, please provide websites that have information on this. All information is much appreciated Thank you.

A couple other people said that you won't be able to eat tough foods the first day you get them, however, my pain did not come until the second day. I have friends who it didn't really hurt at all, and others that were in so much pain that they could only eat macaroni for a week. I was in the middle. However, you will probably be able to eat solid foods. Now, I would go crunching into an apple, but normal foods should be okay for you. Earlier that day, if you are in lots of pain, just eat a big meal before you go, and bring something easy to eat for a snack, such as some ice cream or pudding or something like that. Good luck with everything =)

Iloverupert answered Wednesday May 9 2007, 6:53 pm: like below you should be able to. i mean dont go and bite into an apple or whatever. normally by 2-4 days the pain has lessened or completly came off. even right when you get them start eating like this way the pain wont seem as painful. if anything just eat smaller bites or not hard food. your friends wont hate you for getting braces and being in pain. thefish answered Wednesday May 9 2007, 6:50 pm: You should be able to. It's been a long time since I had braces, but I remember being able to eat normally not long after I got them. Just avoid hard candy (if you chew it, you can still suck on it), popcorn, things like that. And brush your teeth really well, because food + braces = gross. When you get them on, the orthodontist will most likely give you an information pack and tell you everything you need to know, and you can ask them questions.
