Okay, I REALLY REALLY need to lost my stomach fat REALLY REALLY soon. And don't say, no, you aren't fat, you just think that. It's not that I think I'm fat, but my stomach sort of sticks out and I kind of want a flatter stomach anyway. Is there a really fast way I can lose it? And I've tried sit-ups. Sometimes, it helps, but once I did it like, every other day for 3 monthes and it didn't seem to help. Our situp bench has an inclines slope too so it really hurts my back. Any other tips?
For the record, training every other day is plenty, you should not train every day. Without rest days muscles cannot develop. However, note that I referred to your muscles because all you are doing with sit-ups and crunches is building muscles.
Fat cannot be spot reduced. You cannot target it through exercise. Why does everyone choose to believe that a muscle owns the fat around it? They are totally unrelated. Doing exercise has 2 effects, it burns calories (overall) and it builds muscle.
In order to lose your fat you need to lose weight overall. There is no other way humans can do this. So, this follows that cardio and diet are key elements. You need a negative calorie balance for this to work, and so you need to pay careful attention to what you eat. Then, as you lose weight, you will also lose stomach fat. Whether one area is emphasised or not depends upon genetics not specific exercises.
So, dont waste your time with 500 crunches or whatever every day. Train your whole body and eat smart. Cardio is very effective here (running, stairmaster, sports etc). You get far more out of it than the puny calories you burn doing a situp. Not to say you shouldnt train abs as well. Exercising the stomach will tighten it up a bit. However, three times a week should be plenty and, if you do other kinds of exercise, even this may be too much.

Its really all you need to do. Just if you laying down watching tv , do some crunches. If you can't take 25, go to 20, or 15, 10, etc. Just try doing atleast 100 plus each day and you will see results. [ bLue_in_tHe_faCe's advice column | Ask bLue_in_tHe_faCe A Question ]

And every otyher day isn't en ough. You have to do atleast five days a week, but everyday is really best. Also, try crunches. But do them both. Don't just do one or the other.
Seriously, those are the best excersizes for getting a flat stomach.
You could also try hula hooping, which thins your stomach, but it will take a lot longer.
