A couple of days ago i started getting a really sore throat and now it's just scratchy and really annoying. Sometimes if i swallow i'll feel like i have strep or a fever but i don't. Any thing i can drink or take would be helpful just to get rid of this scratchy and sore throat!!!
and i went to my allergy surgeon person today and he ordered a pill that supposedly makes things swell less and these things in my sinuses are swollen well the side effects are:
-swollen face
-increased appetite
-being very moody
-getting hyper
-feeling loopy
-gaining weight
i guess i just really like the way i am and i don't want any of these side effects i'm 13/f i weigh about 98 or 99 lbs and i'm about 5' 3'' i know i'm tiny i guess i really don't want to get chubby in the face. should i really be worried? or just ignore it and let the medicine work.
I suggest you see a doctor because NOBODY here is a professional at this, & we can't tell you the most effective type of healing. In the mean time, get lots of rest, eat crackers & drink ginger ale. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]
ammo answered Tuesday May 8 2007, 12:49 am: I can't really advise on the throat problem but with the tablets you are taking and your concerns about them and the possible side effects - generally (at least where I am) if you are taking any kind of medication and you experience any side effects from them normal practice is to stop taking them immediately and to contact the doctor who prescribed them for further details and to make sure its safe to carry on taking them.
If you have any concerns that you might be experiencing a side effect from those tablets you're taking then I suggest calling up the doctor who prescribed them and then letting him know to check if this is normal. Not only would it just be a good idea to be certain but it will also put your mind at ease. :] [ ammo's advice column | Ask ammo A Question ]
Sabine answered Tuesday May 8 2007, 12:09 am: What is this pill? It sounds like Prednisone, a steroid. If it is Prednisone, the pill does those things in high doses over a period of time (weeks to months) and not all at once. I could advise you more if I knew what the medicine is.
However, my advice is this: you went to the doctor and he prescribed the medicine, so you should either take the pill or call his office and speak with the nurse or someone about your concerns. Don't let him think you're taking these pills if you're not. You can write me in my inbox if you want to clarify or get further info from me.
