Yes, I think that was a good answer. Your friend may have asked you just for your oppinion on it. She personally may think that it's wrong, whereas most people don't have a problem with it. I think that maybe she meant in a way such as 'how could you ever possibly fall in love with someone that is the same sex as you?' meaning that she finds it repulsive. Regardless, your answer was appropriate :].
However, I have a question for you.. you made it sound as though this anime stuff was like a religion of some sort, like, this 'Hiro' person explains situtations and what's right and wrong. I thought it was just like a TV show or something.. so my question is, what exactly is that? [ imxkathleenx3's advice column | Ask imxkathleenx3 A Question ]
Sabine answered Monday April 30 2007, 12:57 pm: There are a couple of reasons she might have asked. She might have just wanted to know your opinion, as falling in love is more an art than a science. Everyone might have a different opinion about why any two people fall in love. In any case, I wouldn't think that a character's explanation in a graphic novel is the definitive answer, necessarily, or an unimpeachable source. Another reason she might have asked was to feel you out on your feelings about same-sex relationships. She might have been waiting for you to say "I don't know" with a shrug, to say "Yeah? How could they even imagine it! That's disgusting!" or to say exactly what you said. She might have been trying to get you to confess that you've felt same-sex attraction, and that could be because she was hoping you had or because she simply wants to figure out how your mind works.
