Running is great for burning calories. You could also focus on those areas that you ar least comfortable with- crunches (side to side as well as the normal up and down) running up and down stairs, lunges, that sort of thing. Good luck!

Exercise:
-- Walk. Work yourself up to a jog, and then work yourself up to a run. Run everyday for maybe an hour. Pace yourself so you don't get tired & quit so easily. If you've got asthma, bring your inhaler, & some water. Running will definitely target your legs as will lunges.
-- Do situps, push ups, lunges, and crunches. These will target your stomach to make it abs, and to take away the flab.

Food:
-- Get rid of junk food. That means no more sweets, no more sodas, no more candies, no more munchies, & no more fast food. Those things are high in fat, and are only okay once in a while. Making a habit in eating them will only help you gain weight. You should rarely eat them.
-- Eat vegetables & fruits. They're good for you. =)
-- Eat meat. If you're vegetarian or a vegan, then you should probably take supplements or eat something else as a replacement.
-- Drink 8 glasses of water, and 4 glasses of milk a day. You'll be guarenteed to pee a lot, but it's worth it. If you're lactose intolerant, try to take a pill so it won't make you sick to drink the milk.
-- Eat yogurt. Yogurt is really good for you because it's light, low in calories & it tastes yummy. Granola is also really good for you.

Good luck.

crunches-abs
lay on your back and hold your legs up 6in off the ground for 10 seconds in sets of 10-thighs, abs.
squats-thighs and abs
put anckle waights on [3-5pounds]and lift your leg to the side and to the front-=thighs and butt.
jogging or walking-cardieovascular
lifting small waights like three pounds not to build muscle but to lose fat in your arms.

If you want to lose weight, you need to start eating better. Cut out junk food, and if you absolutely must, just have a small bit everyday. Eat less. The average portion size today is outrageous, and we should only be eating about half of our portions. Cardio is a great way to tone up. Run as much as you can, walk as much as you can. Weight lifting will help tone your musscles, but be sure to use fairly light weights, like 5lbs- 15lbs. If you use heavier weights, you are building fat into musscle... =gaining weight.

Do crunches, squats, lunges, and so on.

Good luck with it!
