Having her 'cherry popped' just means, that her rapist took her virginity. Assure her, that by that being done, she can still have children.

And these friends of yours should get their facts straight before they decide their doctors.

No it's not true. You should end this rumor as soon as you can because if it gets back to your friend it can really hurt her feelings. She needs everyone to be supportive of her right now, not talking about her genitals. The "cherry" is not a bubble that bursts. Every girl has what's called a hymen, which is a flap of skin that partly closes off the vagina. Most girls break it early in their childhood. It can break from things other than sex, such as riding a bike or stretching. Your vagina isn't very big and the first time you have sex, it gets streched out and sometimes bleeds. If your hymen hasn't been broken yet, it will tear. Nothing actually pops or bursts. The bleeding is just referred to as the popping of the cherry. It really makes no sense and I wish that people would stop using the term. Your vagina just streches out and/or tears, nothing pops. Your period is something completely different. It's blood being released from your uterus, which is separated from your vagina by your cervix. The cervix is about 4 inches inside your vagina, while your hymen is not actually in your vagina at all, it's just on the outside. When you have sex, the penis stops at the cervix and can't get into the uterus. Thus, sex before you get your period can't affect whether or not you can have kids. You can't pop your cervix. The bleeding from your period is totally different from the bleeding caused by having sex. When you have your period, your body releases blood that it has built up to prepare for reproduction, while when you "pop your cherry", the blood is from cuts, tears, and streching.

No, that's definitely not true. Some women are infertile yes, but it has nothing to do with their hymen.

Don't worry about it.

I'm sorry about your friend.

No, it's not true. It's a complete rumour. Your hymen (cherry) breaking before you have your period is completely irrelevent to having children.
