No phone
My boyfriend always wants to talk to me but he never calls me he just likes to text and talk on AIM. At first I just thought he was scared but he always does it, and I've nagged him before and I call him but he never answers I don't want to keep nagging, but I don't like wasting my texts when I could just be on the phone!

Some guys -- some girls, too -- just don't like talking on the phone. If he talks to you in person, and uses other methods of communication, then I don't think he's nervous or doesn't know how to talk to you. Mostly I just think he doesn't like to talk on the phone. It may be impersonal, but that's just the way some guys are. You can't make him want to talk on the phone.

well thats kinda how it was for me with my ex boyfriend. he always wanted to talk to me on the phone and i didnt want to. i realize now thats because i wasnt as comfortable with him as i should have been and i was nervous to talk to him in case we like didnt have anything to talk about. try calling him. make him feel comfortable like he can talk to you about anything and you wont make fun of him about it.

Uh... Does he talk to you in person? Yes? Then there is no reason he can't talk to you on the phone, now is there?
Text and IM is so impersonal. You can't show emotion or feeling in what you say. You're holding a conversation with words on a screen, for crying out loud.
Gee... I remember a world without cell phones and internet. I remember when there was no such thing as text and AIM and IM.
You know how people held conversations? With their mouths. In person, or over the phone. So, I'm sorry, there is no excuse for him not wanting to speak to you on the phone. None.
If I were you, I would tell him if he wants to talk to you so bad, he better answer the phone when you call before you find yourself another guy who has the courtesy to do so.
And if he still doesn't answer your calls, find someone who will.

well if u guys havent been going out for awhile then maybe he just wants to aviod those long awkward silences..BUT try to call him n u can talk bout how his day went.. my boyfriend always does that to me he ask me how my day went and makes me go in to detial like from the moment i opend my eyes n then from the moment i closed em..but dont worry he will tlk on the phone at some point

Talking on the phone can be awkward, sometimes you don't know what to say or you say the wrong thing... Maybe he's just trying to keep that from happening. When you're texting you can think about what you say first.

some guys dont like being on the phone for many reasons.he might be avoiding long oquard silences. also he might want to be very carefull about what he is saying to you so he proofreads what he says before he says it.
