i'm on prescription medicine. i've missed like 5 doses. if i were to take those [each at 500mg] what would happen? that's 2000mg of medicine, so i'm worried. i haven't taken them yet, and i don't think i'm gonna take 5, but i just wanna know what will happen.

Well, it isn't a high enough dose to kill you but you shouldn't take them all at once. It will most likely make you sick and you may or may not vomit the medicine back up. So to be on the safe side, just resume taking the medicine at the dosage and time of day that you started.

you might over dose and, well, let's just say, don't take those pills. what you do is keep going on course, then jjust keep going for another five doses, untilyou're finnished. there, cake.

There's no magic milligram dose which you can't exceed in taking medicine. Medicines vary. For example, you might take 5 mcg of one medicine and 1 gram of a different medicine because each is different strength and formulated differently. The specific medicine and its use dictate whether you should take a dose late or not. Usually you won't want to 'catch up', but it depends on what the drug is and what you're taking it for. There are two things you can do. Call your pharmacy or call your doctor. Even the pharmacy may tell you to call your doctor. They are the only ones who know what you need to do here.

Best of luck to you.

First of all, don't try make up what you missed. you may end up ODing on it and die.

However, to be sure, we need to know what prescription med it is.

your never supposed to take all of what you missed, your just supposed to take ONE pill (or dose) and let it get back into your system. just do it like normal. most medicines you can only take 800mg maximum. so like i said just take one dose, and tomorrow do the same. just try not to miss anymore because everytime you miss the medice has to re-do everything it was trying to do before and start all over.
