I need a good way to convince my mother to let me get my belly button peirced. Any one have any ideas on how I can help convince her? Oh, and if you had one how much did it hurt?

You cannot ever convince anyone of anything they themselves don't want to see or believe. All you can do is lay down the facts. Now that is something I can help you with!

Tell her exactly why you want it, what you'll do for it, & that you'll be responsible of caring for it once you get it. It sounds like having a puppy, but the responsibility is necessary nonetheless.
Pain varies from person to person. No one person will have the same amount of pain as you. What hurts for you could tickle for another person & vice versa. So, I can't tell you exactly how much it would hurt for you. I don't know how you stand pain, and you don't know how I stand pain.
As for the place you get it done at, make sure they're clean. If they don't open the needles in front of you, and the needles are already laid out when you go in the back to get pierced, leave. It'll seem rude, but chances are that those needles are dirty & you can get an infection. I've heard of people getting Hepatitis because the piercer/tattoo artist used old needles that he used on someone else. Make sure they open everything in front of you, and explain everything to you. Such as what they're gonna do, what they're gonna use, what to do while they pierce you, & how to clean/take care of it. You also might like to search different places & ask them their prices & then compare them so you know where to go. =) Good luck. [ christina's advice column | Ask christina A Question ]
