I would say (agreeing with most of the others) that one of you's popular, and the other's not..

And I'm guessing you are, and he's not. But he wants to be popular and he wants to make out with you.

Maybe that makes sense?

This doesn't really qualify as a question, but I'll answer anyways.

He sounded like he wanted to be popular so he could date you because maybe he saw you as the type that doesn't date the uncool guys. Just talk to him about it some more & see what's up. He's a little confusing.
