my friend is a maniac and likes to inflict pain. he has tried to commit suicide multiplye times. i want to get him help, who should i report him too. he needs serious mental health and he is a serious danger to himself and others around him
Yes your friend is looking for attention, yes he is also suicidal. The smartest thing to do, that is if you're his friend, would be to tell a responsible adult. I'd recommend avoiding school counselors because they're crappy counselors to begin with and they don't really know what they're doing. I'd recommend telling his parents first. If they don't believe you or have a hard time accepting it or don't get him help, call child services. [ TheWallflower's advice column | Ask TheWallflower A Question ]

Report him to a school social worker you can do it without him ever knowing. If you arent in school still, tell a family member you are "worried". If he doesn't wanna talk to a counselor, then take him against his will. He'll hate you, but he'll thank you in the end. You'll be saving his life.

You are right to try to report him to others. Try telling an adult that you trust and I hope everything works out for you, him, and anyone else the situation may affect.
