Non-Fiction books I have a choice of reading either FAST FOOD NATION or NICKEL AND DIMED for my English class. Does anyone recommend one over the other?

I don't know about the other book but I read Nickel and Dimed and it was a fast read and interesting. ]
I agree with DN. Nickel and Dimed sounds more interesting, and I read an excerpt online. It sounds really good!

Hi there,
Reading the synopsis of "Nickel and Dimed" has me wanting to read the book myself.
While fast food nation has received a lot of hype, I can't help wondering which one would actually do YOU more good to read.
Check the publisher's page, for reviews and sample chapter:

Here is the Amazon page for Fast Food Nation, which also has samples, which you can see if you click the "search inside this book" link on the picture of the book cover:

... I would like to read them both, but if I absolutely could only pick ONE, I would pick "Nickel and Dimed."
Of course you could see if you can get extra credit by doing both. They both look really good.
Happy reading. ]
Fast Food Nation is much more appliable to your studies (unless of course, you're lower class or lower middle class). After reading it I gaurantee you will probably not want to eat fast food again.
It's a good lesson though and I recommend it.

DEFINITELY FAST FOOD NATION! Never read ither of those books but sure sure I choose fast food because it'll be fun to read plus very interesting.
I guess other book would be interesting too but if you had to go up to summerize it the process of money would be very confusing and hard to remember. ]
