I know it's not right

Question Posted Saturday April 14 2007, 5:50 pm

I've been eating one meal a day. I know this is probably not healthy...and I'm not doing it to diet. I just can't stop. I didn't have breakfast or lunch 2 days in a row and when i returned home I had a dinner which barely consisted of anything. I really am not dieting although I am overweight...I am content with myself. I'm sure this is not healthy but I do drink lots of water and juices. Can anything bad happpen to me?

hhmm it might sound crazy but i've heard that skipping meals actually causes your metabolism to slow down and instead of losing weight you will just gain more. when your body realizes that it's not getting enough food and nutrients as it should, it kinda goes into a "state of emergency" if you will and now releases extra stored fat in your body for warmth and whatever your body uses fat for because it thinks you wont be able to get food for a long time. it can be pretty dangerous if you keep up what you're doing.. and even if you aren't hungry you should slowly try getting back into the habit of at least three meals a day. i'm pretty sure this is accurate, getting this information from a trusted adult who specializes in this area, but it's enough to get me motivated to eat right! hopes this helpss :]

well eating one meal a day isnt healthy at all and it dont make you loose weight either. And you should at least try to eat a lil bit like at breakfast if you dont want nothing that you think might make you over weight, try eating something soft like a bowl of cereal. And i know that i dont know how you look like but im pretty sure your not over weight. Just like yourself for who you are not what you are.

good luck!!!

well honestly, its not good to only eat 1 meal a day...and you should try to eat a little bit for the other meals of the day. And trust me, not eating doesnt help you loose wait: eventually what happens is one day (sometime) you will feel the urge to just eat everything you get your hands on and then you could feel sick and possibly want to starve yourself...like go bolimic or anorexic. I am not trying to scare you or anything, but my friend had that happen to her so i am trying to warn you. it is good that your drinking lots of water and juice though! :-)GoOd LuCk!!!
