Shoes clunk

Question Posted Tuesday April 10 2007, 10:34 pm

I just bought new shoes for my choir program (we're going to New York) and my director told us today that our shoes are not allowed to clunk, mine do. Is there anyway to make the heels not make noises, or am i totally screwed and need to go buy new shoes?

Practice walking around with them quietly at home. DON'T PUT FABRIC UNDER THE SHOE! Trust me, it you do that, you'll end up slipping and falling flat on your face. Any shoes that make that clunking sound can be silenced as long as you walk carefully in them.

Buy something to put under your shoes, most likely a fabric because rubber would make squeky or sticky sounds if you're walking on wood or anything but carpet. I tried to google it for you but I couldn't find anything, sorry. I suggest going to a shoe store and asking someone who works there for suggestions or products to use.

Goodluck -- Hope I helped!

Congrats on the choir gig, haha.
You guys should have fuN!
Anyways, the shoe that you are wearing should be PERFECTLY your size. And when you walk, don`t glide your feet; pick them up. Also, when you are around your director, walk on the soles of your feet!
If you REALLY don`t want to do any of these you can always buy rubbers [sounds wrong, i know] & put them under your shoes. It costs like $10 at your local shoe repair!

Hope i helped & good luck!

It's the way you're walking.

I don't know how to fix it, but I have had the same problem. It kind of resolved on its own for me.

I dance in heels, so I totally get that they can't make noise.

I dont know if there even is such a thing, but maybe you can find some fabric or something to stick under the shoe so when you walk it doesn't make a noise.
