I bough a month package to a tanning salon, so yes I spend some time in a tanning bed.
<p>
<p>
If you go for 10 minutes, you probablly won't get hot but if you go for 15-20 it does get kind of hot in there. Most tanning salons have fans right by their beds that cool you as you're laying there.
<p>
<p>
You are surrounded in light but tanning salons require you to wear your goggles. You can buy them there.
<p>
<p>
For the first couple of times, you might get burned. You also can start to sweat in the tanning bed but that's normal. Make sure you talk to one of the workers at the tanning salon to give you more information. Always wear tanning lotion before going tanning. It will reduce the redness and burning & it will help you get tanner faster.

<p>
The first time that I went tanning was when I was 13 & my mom had to sign this paper that gave me permission. Some tanning salons don't require permession. Now that I'm 15 I don't have to have an adult with me but some places you have to be 16.

I just recently got done with a month at the tanning bed, but I know that each tanning place is different. Call and ask them or go visit the place and they'll tell you.

I've gone to two tanning salons before and both required you to be 16 or older to tan. If you're under 18, you have to have parent permission.

I never got so hot that I couldn't stand it, but sometimes when your back lays against the bulbs for a while it'll start to sweat. Most places have fans installed in their tanning beds to help you stay cool.

Yes, you can get burned in the tanning bed. At most places, they'll start you out around 6 minutes and allow you to go up 2 minutes each day. Some people burn at the 10 minute mark, but it usually doesn't last long. That happened to me, and I went two days without going so the redness would go away. Then when I went back I went for 9 minutes. The next time I went for 10, and then went up 2 each time and stayed there for two times so my skin would get used to that amount of time under the bulbs.

And yeah, it's like being surrounded in blue light. Make sure you wear your goggles (just remove the strings and lay them over your eyes). To avoid getting the goggle markings once you start to tan, move them around to different positions every now and then. That's what I did and it worked fine. If you don't wear them, even if you close your eyes, you can get serious eye damage.

Hope that helps!

It depends on the tanning booth if you are with an adult or not, if you're about 12 or maybe 13 and up I bet you can be in the booth without an adult. And yes, sometimes you get hot, and you are laying down on plastic with lights underneath it and then you pull down a lid that looks like what you are laying on. And yes, you can be burned! That's why you talk to the lady or man at the tanning booth on which lights you should use if you are new with tanning beds. And ask to make sure the lights they use aren't ones that are bad for you. I hoped I helped!
