on Advicenators. If you read a question and your automatically like "Oh i know this!" and you answer it without looking at other peoples answers. Well what if you accidentally put something that is almost the same as another person, and you get rated badly? is it still considered copying someone elses answer?

I usually try to remember to read the answers but sometimes I forget and then my answer unds up being the same (sorta) as the last person, you'renot copying their answers, but this can annoy people, so if you try to remember to read them, then at least you can avoid pissing someone off. Honestly, if the person is putting themselves out there and asking for our advice, then they should accept any advice we decide to give them. And some questions there is only one answer to, and I see like 17 people answer them, because they think, hey its easy I know it I should answer it, though the 16 other people put the same exact answer. So it happens alot dont feel bad if you did it.
If the person gives you a bad rating wel they're idiots who dont deserve your advice, because they only expected one answer...? I hope I helped you out, love ya,

You can and should be rated down if you just repeat what has already been said before you. Best advice
is to pass it by. The whole purpose of making the other answers viewable in the first place was to stop all the repeat answers.
So if you are rating questions (reading from bottom up) you rate the first one well, if you like the answer. Anyone repeats and doesn't add anything new or useful, you can rate them down to a 2. The rating will not be changed. Be aware of that before answering. And it is also a good idea to leave that reason in your feedback. Already got this answer. Politely, of course. xWACKYJACKIEx answered Saturday April 7 2007, 6:04 pm: Nope. Also, ratings shouldn't matter. Just make sure you put thought into your answer, and try your best. If you feel you're helping the person, then its all good.
If they rate you a 1 though, send a abuse report, and the mods will take care of it.
lilmissmuffet15 answered Saturday April 7 2007, 5:16 pm: no way. i see that all of the time, but i never consider it copying. just make sure you give a fully detailed answer, that you tried your best on!
LM answered Saturday April 7 2007, 5:11 pm: No, any logical person rating the question would look at the times. Plus, a long, thought-out answer deserves a good rating regardless of when you posted it. Unless you copy-pasted another person's work.
Usually, you'll get rated down if it's a simple question like a movie title or something, and you answered a question that had 8 answers already. Get my point?
