i have never had sex, but i just think that this is kind of weird.
Why did people wait so long to have sex? like i know the average age is like 16, 17 nowadays, but in the olden days why was it so like freaking sacred haha?

Nowadays, it's all about sex, being sexy, and having sex appeal. Back then, a lot of people were cautious and careful. Now, it's like if you have sex, at a young age, your so bad. Lol.

because before the people were wiser and more modest and knew better then to lose it when your a teenager to some guy that you probably wont even last with forever.They didnt want to risk getting diseases either.And there are religional reasons back then to stay a virgin till mariage.

The Christian church said it was a sin to have sex before you were married, but you could be married off as soon as you got your period. I was 10, for example. Nowadays, you will get a lot of shit if you want to get married before you are like..25.

Well, it is still sacred to some people. It all depends on the person morals, and/or beliefs. I know craploads of people that are still waiting for marriage and think a lot about being a virgin. Then on the other hand, I know a crapload that are not or did not wait for marriage. It really depends on the persons moral values. Peoples' morals just are not that strong anymore.

right. back in the day people were married and having kids by around age 15, but then again most people didn't live past age 30-40 back then anyways. now as time went by the age at which people married and had kids and what not got higher. not because of laws or anything like that, but because the standards of living went up. and with better living standards usually comes longer lives. and with longer lives comes more time to grow up. now at the same time just because people were married doesn't mean they didn't have sex.
if you look at say the wild west or frontier america the first thing you'll hear about is prostitution. it was a major industry in most towns as women could get a lot of money from travelling cowboys and farmers for having sex. so when a boy left out on his first cattle drive at age 14 he'd usually lose his virginity along the way. and a when a girl began growing boobs and growing up she could easily run away from home and be a prostitute and make damn good money doing it. so that's not to say sex was any more sacred or sanctimonius then than it is now.
fast forward to the 40's. a bunch of young american men between the ages of 16 and 20 are being shipped off to war in france, japan, germany, and italy. what do you think happens to these boys before they leave for war? well their girlfriends want to have one last special moment with them. they have sex. or they go overseas, meet some woman in a different country and spend one night of leave with her. or they come home from war, and get with a girl on that same note. there's a pattern growing here though. sex and being sacred are two different things.
go to the 60's, or 70's, or 80's. and the drug induced culture of hippies, discos, and nightclubs. drugs and sex run hand in hand. free love, a time of war, and a time to get it on, and that's what kids did. see the real fact here is: is that no matter what generation, no matter what time period. kids between the ages of 14-19 are going to have sex, and have been for hundreds of years. why? because you're growing, you now have usable sex organs, you now have the ability to have sex and enjoy it, and whether or not your parents want you to, you're going to do it because kids always have and likely always will. i can also bet your parents were in the same situation you were when they were 14. bored, horny, and wondering what it's like.

Well in the *really* olden days, the normal age was 13-15. Then Christianity came along saying that you should be married first. In the beginning people got married at 13-15, but for whatever reason the age kept getting higher and higher; and it became the norm, and later the law, for you to marry at at least 18 years old. You should be aware that the US is very conservative on this, in many countries, especially ones where Christianity didn't spread, you're "legal" when you're 13. In a few countries, you're legal when you're 8.
