i get this all the time(not saying that to brag) what i do is say thanks and thank you and kind of moderate what you say. in stead of thanks you can say it in different languages... lol. also if it bugs you you can ask him if he like really means it and tell him that it bugs you. other than that you can usually ignore it.

Lol. Im just like you I never know how to respond to compliment. Just compliment him back like..."Your pretty cute yourself" or "thanx your hott as well or your cute too" lol kind of hard. But compliment him back and i know thanks get kind of boring.
