I want to pierce my own lip and belly button.
And I can't go and get it done professioally.
So, can you tell me what to do [in general]?
So it won't get infected?
DearAbby92 answered Monday April 2 2007, 4:33 pm: I highly reccomend NOT doing that. Why do you think people have to train to be certified to give piercings? There is a large chance you could become infected, or even just screw up the piercing. Invest the money and go somewhere thats legit. Trust me, you'll be glad your in safe hands.
XOpuckerup answered Monday April 2 2007, 4:29 pm: To peirce your belly button you need a special needle. as for the infections, you should get bactine, it's a liquid antiseptic. Also you can buy seasalt, and mix a Tablespoon of that in a little cup of warm water. Pour that on you bellybutton. It helps to heal the inside of the peircing. The bactine helps for the outside around the peircing. As for your lip, i wouldnt use the bactine, but the seasalt would be great. Hope that helps you some! Sorry about that outburst, just thinking how PAINFULL THAT WILL BE!!!
To be able to pierce it yourself you will need piercing clamps and peircing needles, I dont know where you live so i can't tell you where you could get them but google it. Theres lots of websites.
Idealy you want an autoclave but they cost LOADS of money so the best way to steralise the bars will be to put them in the steam over the kettle for at least 5 minutes, then swab with surgical spirit.
However there will still be a very high chance of it getting infected. I would very very strongly recomend getting it done professionally. Infections are hard to avoid and can be very very serious.
Take care, hope all goes well! xxx [ BrokenWings's advice column | Ask BrokenWings A Question ]
