Question Posted Thursday March 29 2007, 10:29 pm

Well I straighten my hair everyday because its really curly. But a few hours later it starts to curve inward. I see all these girls at my school with PIN straight hair and it lasts all day. Does anybody know how to keep my hair pinstraight all day.

PLEASEEEEE HELP.

THANKS A TON :).

My hair is really thick and curly too, and I straighten it. My hair used to get really frizzy and start to get wavy, so I started using this gel after I would straighten my hair.

I also use a really good straightener called the CHI, which is about $130 if you buy it at JCPenny. It's really worth the money though!

Ask those girls what products they use.
Maybe they have a slight wave so it can easily be controlled.

But don't straightened your hair everyday, embrace your curls! Natural curly hair is to die for. I wish I had it. Pin straight hair is a bit boring.

It's probably your hair products or your straightener.

Do you have a CHI straightener? I've heard some good things about it.

Do you spray your hair after straightening? Too much heat can also make your hair go against you. So give your hair a break and rock your curls with some gel.

You should go to a hairstylist and ask for opinions too. They know the good flat irons and hairspray.

They have some pretty good straighteners and before/after pictures.

You should wait about 2-3 days after you wash your hair to straighten it.. It seems to hold it better because your hair is somewhat dirty.

The girls with pin straight hair probably don't have naturally curly hair, but hair with a slight wave. It's hard to keep very curly hair straight. What I would recommend is either to embrace your natural curls and go for a styling product that keeps them sleek and in control (that's what I would do - I love curls), or to consider permanent straightening. Permanent straightening is a chemical procedure which is damaging to hair, but so is straightening your hair every day. But permanent straightening gives fantastic results, so you really will have sleek, pin straight hair every day without having to touch it!

It's probably your straightener, or your hair. Because of the heat or whatever, your hair won't stay the way you intended. Ask them how they do it.
