When I got mine done, I was told the chlorine in pools will help the healing process. However swimming in lakes will most likely bother it. Lakes contains a lot of organisms and parasites. It's better to avoid the lakes. Hope i helped.

I would not swim with it-like the people below me said. There are so many things in lakes and ponds, it is unsanitary especially for a new piercing. I would go to the parlor, and if they say it is ok, then i would put something over it - like a bandaid. It will keep it as safe as possible. If you do go, then make sure afterwards you clean the piercing.

Hope I helped!

I would strongly advise against swimming in lake water until you ask the professional who did your piercing if it is a safe thing to do.

Make sure that when you get piercings you ask for a paper stating how to care for it and what kind of contact to avoid during the healing process. I know that where I go, I don't have to ask for said paper- they make sure I have it in hand and stress the importance of reading and following it before I walk out the door.

hey, well i think that you shold go back to the parlor where you got it done and maybe get a pamphlet about what`s good and what`s bad for it. also ask the piercer about whether that`s a good idea or not.
