Broke both arms

Question Posted Tuesday March 20 2007, 1:25 am

I recently broke both of my arms, I had a terrible dislocation and fracture on my right elbow and both bones in my left forearm are broken. This happened in a rock climbing accident(i've been climbing for 5 years and I decided to go without a rope one day) Anyways, the injuries aren't too serious and the bones should heal and be even stronger by the time it's done healing. However, I do have a serious dilemma. With both my arm in casts, how do i wipe my own butt when I go to the bathroom? (in case you're wondering, it took me a looong time to type this question)

omg i was in this situationa and the doctors didnt know wut to dao (not that i asked them how i should) but they said that i was one of the first people to break both arms in the exact same spot.
But all u have to do is lean forward and easily slide your arm through the front of you or if you do it the other way then stand up a little and reach your arm behind you and carefully wipe from behind. It should get better and if u have any other questions about how to do things with your casts then just ask me. Castlechik06@aol.com

Ahhh, I was in this situation! Ive never known anyone else who broke both arms! its a tad tricky, but if you put your arms forwards kinda under you you should be able to reach.
Good luck and i hope you heal soon xxx

Instead of asking a friend or family member to wipe your butt, why don't you ask them for help installing a toilet seat bidet? Google "bidet" to see just some of the toilet seats with a bidet mechanism built into them that are available. Good luck! Maybe I should settle for at least better luck?

Sorry about the accident. Here's a few ideas:
ask someone in your family to help you out.
OR
you can take a long stick with paper already applied to it and just wipe.
OR
you can just 'shake it off'

Man, I'm sorry about your case!

I'm also sorry that I started laughing when I read your question at the end...not that it's funny - it's 'cause I started picturing different solutions and I admit - being a designer - my ideas are pretttttty weird!

Okay. So these are what I visualized during my loling process:

- Asking someone else to do it for you, with blindfolds on if it bothers you (a family member or something) while you 'direct' them where to go and how far to go.

- Sitting on a pile of tissues and moving left and right, forward and backward till .. the mission is accomplised. XD

That's all I have in mind.

Have the speediest recovery ever!

=)
Kay.
