If you don't mind needles, Depo Provera is a great way to stop menstruating. It's an injected form of birth control. It lasts for 3 months.

I'm on it, and have been for 6 months now. I have only experienced light spotting a couple of times... no menstruation.

hey, well there`s really no way to make them shorter unless you visit your gyno. im pretty sure that the only way to fix this problem is by getting pills from the gyno, but i could be wrong, maybe there`s an alternative. there`s also something called an ablation. im pretty sure that you`d have to be kind of older to get this, but maybe a parent signature would suit it just fine. here`s some info.

I’m assuming that your flow is lighter than normal? This is your body’s natural reaction to your change in hormones.
use the IUD, patch, pill, or ring will have menstrual periods every month. Some take the shot may not have periods often or at all while they use it. Use combined-hormone methods to skip periods.

The last seven pills in the pack are called "reminder" pills. They are inactive placebos that do not contain hormones. They are taken during the fourth week to let a woman have her period and to help her keep the habit of taking a pill on a regular basis.

Some women choose to skip placebo pills and go right into the next pack to avoid having a period continuously ,they may still experience some spotting — light bleeding — when they do this. One brand of pill — Seasonale — is being marketed as a way for women to avoid having their periods three months at a time.

Factors that can change the length of your pd. include:
Intense exercise
Dramatic weight loss
Smoking (smokers, especially thin women who smoke, tend to have longer periods)
Stress
Travel
Change in contraception methods
Disorders of the uterus
I got this info from a site, Hope this helps.

I really doubt there's anyway to make them shorter without a pill. Talk to your mom about it so she can get you to a gynocologist.
