Really, you want to go to the interview dressed like your boss-to-be. Visit the restaurant beforehand if you can. Find out the menu and prices and how the servers are dressed. If you're interviewing for host, you may wish to be a little more dressy, meaning wearing hip/trendy shirts or nice shoes. If you're interviewing for a kitchen position, you should probably wear nice Dockers or slacks and a long-sleeved dress shirt. Make sure they fit conservatively. You don't want them hanging down around your hips. The key is to look polished and groomed. Don't wear sneakers. Wear your shirt tucked in and wear a belt. Wear an undershirt and button your shirt conservatively. Have your hair cut well (trendy or conservatively, depending on the restaurant) and make sure it's clean and styled. Make sure you smell fresh, but not overpoweringly perfumed. Make sure your hands are soft and clean and your fingernails are trimmed. No facial jewelry is acceptable if you want to make the very best impression possible. You may not be the guy from the Sears ad every day, but for most job interviews, you want to put out that sort of impression. Good luck.

Not like an important high level job or anything. I went to be interviewed and I wore like a dress, to look nice & everything. & I felt SO out of place. I ended up getting the job and everything. But everyone else that was getting interviewed was just dressed in jeans and a nice shirt.
Since you're 15, I would definitely suggest that you don't dress in anything a 15 year old wouldn't wear on a regular basis. Like, if I were you, I'd wear a nice pair of jeans, and a cute button up vertical striped dress shirt with nice shoes. You'll be dressed casual, and you'll look very smart.
DearAbby92 answered Thursday March 15 2007, 4:58 pm: How casual is the interview going to be? I doubt, since you are in high school and this is for work experience, you'll need to be totally formal.
Dress "smart". Dress pants or khakis, and a collared shirt/polo. Maybe even wear a tie if its more formal. But wear dress shoes, always.
ASAPcamille answered Thursday March 15 2007, 4:34 pm: I would go in a niced dress shirt, or a nice polo shirt. Also, wear khaki pants. They look really nice. Just look professional, and everything will be fine- dress to impress, but not too much!
