LadyH answered Saturday March 10 2007, 5:03 pm: I suggest picking a group of 4 or 5 girls (more or less) & go to the spa for a day. Get manis & pedis, go out to a nice place for lunch, & have them come back to your place for a little get together. Maybe your mom can make you girls some virgin margaritas (margaritas with no alcohol). You don't need to spend a lot on your birthday like these pathetic Sweet 16 shows. Being a fun & mature person is learning to make the best out of what you got & having fun regardless of the amount of money that's involved. Have fun! :)
P.S. Depending on where you live, manis & pedis (together) can be as low as $35. I mean, I live in an area where everything is priced a lot higher than most cities - & THAT'S the cheapest here. So I'm sure you can find manis & pedis under $130 unless you live in Beverly Hills or something. There will be somewhere close that pays a lot less - you're probably just looking at the expensive places. [ LadyH's advice column | Ask LadyH A Question ]

DearAbby92 answered Saturday March 10 2007, 3:48 pm: Can you have a big blowout? Like in the show, super sweet sixteen? Because that sounds amazing. You can pick a theme and make it crazy.
If you want something more chill, try having a You Day. I had a Abby Day were me and my best friends did whatever I wanted to. We ice skated, had a little spa thing, ate my favorite foods, and they made me this AMAZING shadowbox with so many memories in it. Its better than any gift I could have ever gotten.
Spa parties, hotel parties, pool parties, beach parties, winter parties, were all really good parties that i've been too. Do whatever suits you.
smichele427 answered Saturday March 10 2007, 2:31 pm: for my sweet 16 im going to the beach.
i love tanning...
you could go see a movie with your friends
go to a resturant.
try to serve sodas instead of alcholic beverages.
getting drunk is not a way to remember such a special time.
Depressed_Poet answered Saturday March 10 2007, 1:56 pm: Maybe you should invite different friends that don't want to drink if it's that much of a problem.
You could go walk on the beach at night after a party, if it's safe in your area
Hire a DJ and have a party in your backyard or basement
Stay overnight at a hotel
See a movie
Go to a restaurant
Or all of the above!
Whatever you wanna do, just make it something to remember for the rest of your life that you can look back on and be able to say "Remember the time..." etc. Maybe you could go out of state just to go do something stupid like throw a coin into a wishing well... lol. Stupid... but fun. Or maybe you could go to a concert? Something you'll never forget! Or maybe if you have your friends sleep over at the hotel you should top the night off with truth or dare questions like this:
Dare-"Pretend to have an orgasm."
Truth-"Did you ever feel attracted to a member of the same gender?"
Happy sweet sixteen and have fun!
